Karela bharva

ingredients
  • 250 gms karela/ bitter gourd.
  • 20 gms ginger garlic paste.
  • 100 gms onions ground to a paste.
  • 20gms/ 1 heaped tbsp barbat masala ground to a smooth paste.
  • Imli & Jaggery pulp 1 tsp. ( each).
  • Salt to taste.
  • 100gms Oil for cooking.
  • Fresh corriander leaves to garnish.
instructions
  • Peel karelas roughly.
  • Apply Haldi & salt , keep for some time & boil in water till 3/4 th cooked , fill the karelas with Barbat masala.
  • Heat oil in a Kadhai.
  • Add onion & ginger garlic paste & cook till golden Brown.
  • Add the remaining Barbat Masala paste & fry till it leaves oil.
  • Now add the filled karelas to the khadai & cook well.
  • Add tamarind & jaggery pulp , salt to taste.
  • Garnish with Corriander leaves.
