ingredients
  • 150 gms Tuvar dal
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 2 green chillies (slit in the center)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Barbat masala
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • Salt according to taste
instructions
  • Pre cook the tuvar dal in a pressure cooker with salt and turmeric. Keep aside once cooked.
  • In a Kadhai, take ghee. Once heated, add the asafoetida, mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, and fry till pink.
  • Now add the tomatoes and let it all cook well.
  • Then add the Barbat masala.
  • Add the pre-cooked dal to the kadhai.
  • Mix well and let it simmer till it comes to a boil.
  • Add salt accordingly and garnish with coriander leaves.
