Dal tadka
ingredients
- 150 gms Tuvar dal
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp jeera
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
- 2 green chillies (slit in the center)
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 tsp Barbat masala
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- Salt according to taste
instructions
- Pre cook the tuvar dal in a pressure cooker with salt and turmeric. Keep aside once cooked.
- In a Kadhai, take ghee. Once heated, add the asafoetida, mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, and fry till pink.
- Now add the tomatoes and let it all cook well.
- Then add the Barbat masala.
- Add the pre-cooked dal to the kadhai.
- Mix well and let it simmer till it comes to a boil.
- Add salt accordingly and garnish with coriander leaves.
