Chambal Chicken in Barbat Masala

ingredients
  • 600 gms chicken
  • 200 gms onions (ground to a paste)
  • 40 gms / 2 tbsp ginger garlic (ground to a paste)
  • 20–25 gms barbat masala
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 50 gms curds
  • 1 heaped tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2–3 slit green chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 100 gms oil
  • 2 boiled eggs (for decoration)
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnishing)
instructions
  • Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and curds.
  • Heat oil.
  • Add bay leaf and ground onion paste, fry till pink.
  • Add coriander powder and ground barbat masala, fry well.
  • Add marinated chicken pieces and fry till oil separates.
  • Add remaining marinade with 1/2 glass of water and cook on slow flame till chicken is cooked.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and slit green chilies.
  • Decorate with boiled eggs and serve.
