Chambal Chicken in Barbat Masala
ingredients
- 600 gms chicken
- 200 gms onions (ground to a paste)
- 40 gms / 2 tbsp ginger garlic (ground to a paste)
- 20–25 gms barbat masala
- 1 bay leaf
- 50 gms curds
- 1 heaped tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2–3 slit green chilies
- Salt to taste
- 100 gms oil
- 2 boiled eggs (for decoration)
- Fresh coriander leaves (for garnishing)
instructions
- Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and curds.
- Heat oil.
- Add bay leaf and ground onion paste, fry till pink.
- Add coriander powder and ground barbat masala, fry well.
- Add marinated chicken pieces and fry till oil separates.
- Add remaining marinade with 1/2 glass of water and cook on slow flame till chicken is cooked.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and slit green chilies.
- Decorate with boiled eggs and serve.
