  • 500 gms Channa Daal
  • 50 gms Barbat masala
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2–3 medium-sized onions
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • 75 gms oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
instructions
  • Boil the channa daal in 4 glasses of water.
  • Separate the water from the daal and keep aside.
  • Add 1/2 katori of the boiled daal to the water; use the remaining daal to make puran poli.
  • Heat oil.
  • Add mustard seeds, then add ground onion paste and fry well.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté.
  • Add ground Barbat masala and fry well.
  • Add the boiled channa daal water along with the daal.
  • Add jaggery and salt to taste.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve.
