- 500 gms Channa Daal
- 50 gms Barbat masala
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2–3 medium-sized onions
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp jaggery
- Salt to taste
- 75 gms oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
instructions
- Boil the channa daal in 4 glasses of water.
- Separate the water from the daal and keep aside.
- Add 1/2 katori of the boiled daal to the water; use the remaining daal to make puran poli.
- Heat oil.
- Add mustard seeds, then add ground onion paste and fry well.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté.
- Add ground Barbat masala and fry well.
- Add the boiled channa daal water along with the daal.
- Add jaggery and salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve.
